Oloreso Petroleum is a corporation located in Almaty, Al-Farabi Avenue, 13, Officw 402. The company’s major operation is the procurement, storage, and processing of oil to produce dark and light oil products. The company was established in 2016. The first stage of the Raw Hydrocarbon Processing Complex was launched the same year, with a refining output of 65 thousand tons per year. The second stage of hydrocarbon processing, with a design capacity of 300 thousand tons per year, went into operation in the fourth quarter of 2020. The third stage of commissioning of the hydrocarbon raw material processing is planned for 2024, with a design capacity of 830 thousand tons per year.

Our company is the only one in the region with such a project, which allows us to sell the Plant’s products without difficulty, thereby partially meeting the region’s need for gasoline and lubricants. The Company’s location near Kazakhstan’s Sea Gate provides for unfettered trading of fuel oil to Caspian states. The heating oil generated by the plant will be used for the bunkering of Oloreso Petroleum tankers and ships. The domestic market will receive all gasoline and diesel fuel. This project is being funded in part by own funds and in part by borrowed funds (from second-tier banks).

The plant’s ideal position in Almaty’s industrial district, as well as the presence of its own access railway tracks, enables for the smooth shipment of finished products. The company also has its own tank farm for intermediate storage of finished products. The company has an administrative and production building with a total size of 11,000 m2, where we also do internal cleaning of railway tanks from bottom sediments.

Simultaneously, a project for washing railway tanks from the outside is being reviewed by the state – the only one of its kind in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the future. The corporation has its own truck fleet for transporting oil and petroleum products. The Company has obtained specifications for the building of an oil pipeline for the supply of raw materials to the plant via the Oloreso Petroleum system. NC Aktau International Sea Commercial Port, JSC also provided technical requirements for the installation of an oil pipeline for the shipment of finished products via pipe transport. Because pipe transportation is the cheapest in the world today, the above activities will allow for a high value addition to the product produced.

The existing facility has a developed infrastructure. The Company owns:

• Boiler rooms for space heating;
• Water supply;
• Gas supply;
• Railway tracks and automobile tracks;
• Preparation of railway tanks for loading dark and light oil products;
• Crude oil preparation workshop.

Our company mostly sells finished goods to wholesale buyers. If we are talking about the local market, then organizations like Socar Marketing are huge, both regional and national corporations. The lack of competition in the region makes the initiative both economically and socially successful. The primary driver is a high and consistent demand for fuels and lubricants.

With the exception of basic equipment, materials and equipment for current activities and construction are primarily obtained from manufacturers in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Customs Union. European firms are the primary equipment providers. The equipment purchased with sophisticated technology fulfills worldwide environmental standards and is compliant with Kazakhstani regulations. The production technologies adhere to both international and domestic standards and laws.
